The site is located at the end of a block with green areas (Torre Ramona’s Park) and facilities buildings. An important topic is the situation of those adjacent facilities. The streets are in a lifted level and so, ground floors and parks are in a “basement level”, lowered relating to the streets. So, it is necessary to avoid boundaries to become high walls that would sink the existing parks and gardens.
Besides from previous considerations, we plan a square as an element to integrate the unevenness, the architecture and other elements to be set on. All that, gets even like a protective cloak. The square integrates the building’s ground floor (destined to social facilities) in itself. Its unifying treatment will also have several spaces and uses. We propose two petanques for old people and a bicycle parking for young people. All elements gatherred with street furniture, trees, vegetation and lighting have a single treatment that serves the purpose to integrate everything.
Having an external facade and accesses, the proposal allows to use the basement for complementary uses.
Once the “united element” is organised, the houses should be deliberately placed. They should lean and pile up, avoiding covering. And finally, these tutee houses have the peculiarity to accommodate both old and young people.
