Cariñena’s old quarter has clear boundaries.
Enclosure borders are made up by some medieval remains of ancient city walls and tower.
Located on that border, among two different urban drawings, the site has an edging character.
However, this closing must produce a way through the city walls, as well as a natural pedestrian path from the city center.
The project combines the willing to attend the actions raised by the place itself: To strength edges, to create a closing wall, to block, but also to communicate, to go past, to go through, to stay...
The external actions are the main way to identify the object. A solid piece empty inside. To search for outside inside transition mechanisms. To introduce natural light through inlays. An attached hanging volume destined to town hall, represents the will for openness, attraction, communication, clarity and the entry into a recent institution.
